Treatment plan for infertility

based on medical cycle monitoring using the OvulaRing (CFG score)
Updated on: Author: Medically reviewed by: Prof. Dr. med. Alexander

Many couples struggling to conceive are looking for a gentle, effective, and scientifically proven treatment method. With OvulaRing For the first time, a medical device is available that comprehensively tracks the female cycle, thereby offering a completely new Menstrual Cycle Monitoring enables.

Based on these precise measurements, the CFG score developed to help doctors assess fertility on an individual basis and create a personalized Treatment Plan for Those Hoping to Conceive This allows for the identification of specific cycle patterns, the targeted treatment of hormonal imbalances, and a significant increase in the chances of pregnancy.

What treatment regimen does OvulaRing offer?

OvulaRing provides a complete record of the female menstrual cycle, opening up new possibilities in gynecological practice. In addition, this continuous measurement of core body temperature enables a new level of diagnostic accuracy. This also makes new treatments possible for women struggling to conceive.

The OvulaRing CFG Score

In addition to accurately determining ovulation within the cycle, OvulaRing can provide further important information about the state of the cycle. The length of the luteal phase is crucial for assessing a cycle’s fertility. This can be precisely determined using OvulaRing. To this end, Prof. Alexander developed a scoring system for cycle characteristics based on the length of the luteal phase*. Scores range from A to E, where Score A indicates a cycle with a pregnancy and E indicates a cycle without ovulation. The closer the score is to A, the more fertile the cycle.

OvulaRing Treatment Protocol for Infertility

General

Continuous tracking of at least three consecutive cycles using OvulaRing forms the basis for treating infertility based on the CFG score. Depending on the cycle characteristics identified by OvulaRing in each cycle, various treatment options may be available. Generally speaking, the closer the CFG score is to score A, the higher the fertility of the cycle.

Score E

If monophasic cycles (Score E) occur frequently, inducing ovulation may increase the likelihood of a fertile cycle. However, if this does not lead to success, the patient should be referred to a fertility clinic for comprehensive evaluation.

Score D

In Score D, a luteal phase is present following ovulation. However, at 8 to 10 days, the luteal phase is relatively short. In this case, the corpus luteum may produce too little progesterone to sustain the period until a fertilized egg implants. In this situation, treatment with progesterone or retroprogesterone is recommended.

Score C

Score C most closely corresponds to the standard cycle, with a luteal phase that lasts an average of 13 days. The corpus luteum produces enough progesterone to optimally support an emerging pregnancy.

Score B

With Score B, the length of the luteal phase is above average (16 to 19 days). The corpus luteum produces more than enough progesterone to support an emerging pregnancy.

Score D, C, B without pregnancy

In this case, pregnancy does not occur despite the presence of cycles with a sufficiently long luteal phase (B and C) or following progesterone administration. The next steps involve examining the man’s sperm in a semen analysis and the woman’s fallopian tube patency. If these results are normal, it is possible that the available fertile days were not utilized appropriately.
Regular sex during the fertile days—ideally 2 or 3 times during the fertile phase of each cycle—is recommended. OvulaRing accurately identifies individual cycle patterns and provides optimal support for timing intercourse correctly.

Score A

If your temperature remains elevated for 20 days or more after ovulation, you are most likely pregnant.
